Chaitanya Puranik, BDS, MS (Biomaterials), MDSc (Pediatric Dentistry), PhD (Operative Dentistry)

Dr. Puranik is an Assistant Professor and Director of Predoctoral Education in the Department of Pediatric Dentistry at the University of Colorado’s School of Dental Medicine. He is also the Interim Program Director for the Pediatric Dentistry Residency Program at Children’s Hospital, Colorado.

After receiving his BDS degree from India, Dr. Puranik embarked on his long but enriched US dental education journey. Starting with a Masters degree in Dental Biomaterials, PhD in Oral Biology, numerous Fellowships and certificate programs, he ultimately completed Residency training in Pediatric Dentistry. He is licensed to practice Pediatric dentistry in the states of Colorado, Virginia, Texas, and Washington. He has successfully published numerous peer-reviewed research articles, book chapters, and two innovative US patents while serving as a research mentor for numerous dental students and post-docs.

Dr. Puranik’s extensive educational journey across various renowned universities and dental schools in the United States has equipped him with profound knowledge about the wide spectrum of residency and post-doctoral dental education programs. Furthermore, Dr. Puranik has delved deep into the intricate landscape of specialty dental licensure pathways across various states in the US.
